Zentra Yoga is a traditional yoga style based on the the teachings of Swami Satyananda Saraswati, direct disciple of Swami Sivananda Saraswati. It is a holistic, tantric approach using different yogic techniques to harmonize and energize our physical, pranic, mental, intuitive and spiritual bodies.
To quote Swami Satyananda, “Yoga is not an ancient myth buried in oblivion. It is the most valuable inheritance of the present. It is the essential need of today and the culture of tomorrow.”
Our fast-paced way of living has disconnected us from ourselves and from the beauty and richness of the present moment. Zentra is built from two words: “Zen” (which is the philosophy of the moment) and “Tra” (“trayati” is a Sanskrit word which mean to liberate).
Yaizu kutir class
At Zentra, we use yoga as a tool to help you liberate the zen mind within you. For the Japanese, it means to get back to your source and reconnect with your essence.
Zentra classes are 90 minutes long and are divided into three sections:
-
Talk from the teacher about the yogic way of life and how to bring it into our daily lives.
-
An hour of asana practice combining yoga Asanas (postures) designed by the teacher for the needs of the students in the class. These asanas take into consideration the 5 koshas or Bodies.
-
The class finalizes with with pranayama or mantra practice and a final relaxation to harmonize the results of the practices in the body.
Classes primarily focus on the presence of mind, the breath, and the joy to feel connected with ourselves again.
